A couple from West Cumbria have scooped the top jackpot at the online bingo site Mecca Bingo. The couple, who have been named as 35 year old Barry Minehouse and his wife Lynsey, 32, discovered they had won the jackpot after logging on to play bingo on Tuesday evening.

The 4th Annual Bingo Summit begins on 16th June 2009. Last year the 3rd summit was attended by 150 key figures from the online bingo industry, and this year will see that number rise to around 350 delegates.

A Bingo hall might not seem to be the most romantic of venues, but if one looks at the mixture of people who play the game then a very different picture emerges. The first interesting fact is that far more females play Bingo than do males. A recent survey has indicated that the typical composition of a live Bingo game is 85% female.

Somebody has bought a winning bingo ticket and stands to collect a third share in the total prize money of $6 million. The trouble is the person has not come forwards and nobody knows who it is! The ticket was purchased in Guam.

A number of recent events have brought into question how seriously some people are taking the game of bingo, and how far they will go to protest their rights. Over the last few weeks incidents have occurred around the world, some of which have breeched security, and caused police to be called out!
