Back in March we reported how an unlucky Mecca Bingo player had almost lost out on her winnings as a cheeky woman had tried to claim her winnings at her local bingo hall in Stockport (see the original story here)

Now it appears that the luck has run out for the fraudster who was correctly identified by police and pleaded guilty to fraud, having to pay out £700 in a fine.

Clair Borrill, also from Southport, had claimed £500 of another lady’s jackpot and managed to leave before stressed staff, who were running the club on a busy Sunday night, realised what had happened.

Mecca Bingo also paid out to the actual winner once they had realised their error so at least the prize went to the true winner, but it just goes to show that what goes around comes around and seeing as there are loads of bingo prizes on offer at Mecca Bingo there’s no need to cheat!
