You’d think that there would be plenty to do in rural America, wouldn’t you? In between the barn dances, farming and Garth Brooks records, you would have a job to find time for bingo. But that’s just what those loveable guys and gals in Nebraska are doing - only it’s with a bovine twist!
Cow Chip Bingo is the latest craze amongst farmers and land owners. Let me explain…
Take one small field, add a cow and mix with some odd people with more money than sense. Punters then pay to acquire a square (or several squares) on a field which is divided into a grid. This gird corresponds to your ‘bingo’ card.
After you’ve wagered, you wait. Wait for what? Well, in layman’s terms you wait for your beefy friend to lay a cow pat!
You may be there a while (games can take over an hour if the cow is a little shy), it may take five minutes, but whichever grid square is befouled first is the winner. You can make it even more like real bingo by insisting that people buy a number of grid squares each, and they can only shout ‘house’ once the correct number of plops have been laid!
Probably the weirdest variation of bingo we have ever heard of, but admittedly, it sounds like fun. We are off to acquire a field and some cows to start our own game of Cow Chip Bingo, so we’ll hopefully see you with your wellies on!
Only in America.
